Blur's PicturesIt's been a long ay at Oulton Park, It starts early and b the time you end up getting home you're shattered. All well worth it though, and the first time we have been in one of the stands. The Stand we were in was a Lodge corner It's not a bad corner, quite fast and into the start/finish straight, but by that time, all of the pack seems to have settled down, still I think it was a relatively bog standard set of racing today, reasonably unchanged from lights to flag, mind you when I watch the replay that I have recorded, this may show a different picture. However one thing I haven't seen before is the Safety car breaking down. I'm not 100% sure if it was supposed to go in on that lap, but the pack decided that whilst it's lights weren't out, the fact that it was leaving the track was the signal that it was time to race. At that point the safety car halted. Needless to say that the picture is of one of the many times that the safety car came out.
Todays outing was to the Blue Planet Aquarium which I was looking forward to but just like Blackpool your memories of it are better to stay just as that... memories. Never go back. After a payment of over forty of your English pounds the sights were few. Perhaps I have been spoilt by The Deep which is a brilliant world of the sea rather than the small Cafe which is the Blue Planet. Of course I could go back to The Deep and think exactly the same. Anyway, to the picture. It was taken from my new camera, the rather average Cannon Powershot SX230 HS, which is a rather catchy title I think, it was a 1 second shot from the Cannon on the home journey which doesn't have any coordinates from the GPS in the EXIF as I would have hoped for but perhaps it's just a Cannon thing and perhaps I really need to mess with their drivers... I was hoping otherwise.
All night I was trying to get a picture of some blurriness and it all turned out rubbish. This one isn't bad, but it's not as good as I would have hoped. It's a tram passing some of the illuminations. I did try and get a picture of Bispham Station lit up in blue, but the delay between me pressing the button and camera taking the picture was so long that I nearly missed the whole thing, turned out that all I got was the right side of the station. Ah well there's always next year.
In the Art Gallery in Manchester there is an interactive section that the kids love. This secyion is a half room (more like a cubby hole) of mirrors where my Daughter was dancing; I thought it was a nice abstract snap. I couldn’t find a way to stop the DV5 using the flash so my finger was over the flash to stop it ruining the picture. This then stretched the exposure and we get blur. All the other pictures were with flash and were over exposed and an exact moment in time, which made them all a little a bit stark and horrible. I must admit the DV5's flash isn't it's best feature because it's difficult to get picures right with it. However that's OK because it's not an expensive camera, I don't like flash photography and it's really a video camera.
