A crane in the centre of Manchester taken from as a reflection from Malmaison’s window, you can see the blinds if you look close. What you can also see is where the brightest bit of the sun is. There was a black spot in the sun on the photo due to the cameras detector getting saturated by the brightness of the sun. This has been edited out.

Our poor cat, not only has he had to put up with my daughter, he how has to put up with someone putting a pair of knickers in his head. He puts up with everything admirably.

Today's game is spot the fake. Which one do you think?
I received both pound coins as a leaving gift and only one of them is a fake. This isn’t me being ungrateful at all believe me, it’s just since I married someone who deals with money day in day out I now know what a fake pound coin looks like. I’m not good with notes by the way.
For those who need help it’s the one on the right. OK it looks just like a battered pound coin, but that’s not it. When you look at it in reasonable light there’s a silvery quality that you can’t see in the scan here, however without that it still looks like a fake. I just thought that this would be of interest to people who spend pounds. I suspect from a forging point of view they are easier to pass off after all they are only a pound, but if you mint enough then it amounts a great deal of cash for the counterfeiters.
Lesson over.

A new arrival a grape vine. What's going to happen to it no-one knows. There are grapes there, but they were on it when it was bought. Seen some new growth, who knows. I have this stupid wish to see it fill all three sides of the garden... it'll never survive winter. That's not a scarecrow, it's my daughter. The shot was worked out quite well, waiting for the sun to cast a shadow, getting my daughter in the correct place. It's the execution that let it down.

Stockport's Pyramid, which is owned by the Coop Bank in the distance with the mess of roads in front. Seemed a better picture in my head.

Early morning and the same picture out of our back window as a couple of days ago. The sky is better. Not that I obsess about the weather at all.
