All fun as usual, this time it's fun in Jersey. This picture is of the fort just of St Aubin. The sun is hot... ish and the wind is raging, the walls are thin but it's a pretty little bit of the country if you know what I mean. I have yet to venture out much other than St Aubin at the moment but that will happen in time. Not that there is too much of the island to be honest, though I did watch the adverts for Jersey before I left and I must admit I haven't yet seen where they were filmed so perhaps it's larger than I think. I must visit Town at one point and by that I mean St. Hellier. I alsomust see if I can get to the fort, which is walkable when the tide is out. Getting there isn't the problem, knowing you can get back is probably the issue.

With nothing much other than work happening, it was nice to get out and have a bit of a walk even though it was around Alderley Edge and back to the same Beacon we visited six years ago. This time I got the whole plaque in without having to piece it together like I seemed to have to do with the old QTEK 9100, it was also nice and sunny this time unlike the last.
Prior to this we went to the Mind Body and Soul exhibition/thingy/lounge which I should have realised by the name of it that I would hate it. Strangely enough it wasn't that bad, mainly due to it's minuscule size. We paid our four and a half of your English Pounds for one lap of the hall which even at a slow pace took a maximum of 5 minutes. After this we left. Job done.

You have to start worrying when I can't think of anything better to title this item but I can't so hang onto your hat as this seems to be a totally inspired bit of writing coming at you at high speed. If you do feel the urge do stop half way through as I don't want anyone fainting.
Bet you can't guess where this place it. Yes you are correct, it's Stonehenge. It's strange really because really iy should be two words surely, it should be Stone Henge as it is a Stone Henge and not a Stonehenge, though I'm sure that this has now become the name of the place which was unimaginatively named just like the title, so it's a Stone Henge in Stonehenge just like there was a little skirmish in a place called Skirmish... no I mean Battle.
Of course what with me being busy there has been no time to take any pictures at all, in fact I did take a few just the other day of a beach but they were rubbish and I would not insult you with them, so perhaps I will be luckier within the next week, however I wouldn't bet on it to be honest.

I must admit, I may have decided to stay at home this weekend if I had known what was on the cards, but my crystal ball was broken so I blindly booked a hotel only to get charged twice for it and to find that the people I booked it with were more interested in taking the money for the room they forgot to do... well... much else other than that. At least we were expected, well two of us were and that's about all they could be bothered doing. I can understand it's very difficult when you're dealing in over-priced hotel rooms, you don't want to guarantee anything for someone who has decided to pay a premium for it. Perhaps I should have just stuck to the ultra reliable cheap as chips Premier Travel Lodge Inn. You at least know what you're going to get and that they are going to take your money just the once.
In the interests of trying to keep everyone happy I made sure that the hotel had a pool so your cheap as chips variety was out for that specific reason. This was so that my not so little little one could have a paddle each morning before being bored by the constant stream of sights to see. So off we went to the pool only to be greeted by this sign. All pretty standard apart from item 3. That definitely caused me to double take. In fact I can't imagine why would would have to put that so high up the pecking order of things not to do if you have to have it in the list at all. What sort of people use this pool that need to be told that? Do they also need to be shown the designated pooing place too? It did make me wonder whether the pool was now a safe place to enter what with the problems with rules in general. After all if there's a rule for it then there will surely be a percentage of people breaking it despite a sign telling them that perhaps the toilet is the best place.

I don't think you'll find that stone guard dogs are that effective, something about them being stone, however athletically and from a maintenance point of view they are better than real dogs as far as I am concerned. None of that barkey nonsense with these chaps they just obediently sit there asking for nothing. These can be found at Brodsworth Hall near Doncaster.A loing way to go for a trip out but it looked interesting and we hadn't been there despite my Wife constantly saying that we had.
It's an interesting hall and probably better when the weather is warm and there would have been more to see if we has turned up on Sunday because we would be able to look at the chapel. Still looking at the huge hall set out as it would have been around the First World War is impressive though very cold even inside so if you do go when it's cold, make sure you take a good thick coat and as you can see by the picture it was cold. I think the snow gives it away.
