I am sure the last time we went to the National Waterways Museum it was huge, however this time, it seemed less so. I suspect part of that was because the engine hall was silent and the pump house was closed, so I suspect that didn't help. I also seem to remember that the blacksmith was working the last time too, so I suspect there were a lot of things to do. Perhaps we were lucky or maybe we went on a Saturday.

Ah the first picture of the New Year and finally some wintry weather, though to be honest it could have waited until we had got inside and nice and cosy so we could view the horrible weather through a window instead of at first hand.
After an hour of walking in sunny weather, then snow, then sleet, then rain and back to snow again we did manage to view the storm through the glass of the cafe, but half way through we met up with these two which I initially wasn't bothered about until one of them gave a brief shooing motion to my Wife with it's horns at which point I thought it was wise to keep a steady distance.
Still that's my weekly exercise done... where are the chips.

With so little on over Christmas, there was a need to get out of the house and do some walking, so off to Chadkirk we went, and to walk along the canal towards Romley. With so few picture opportunities in the bad light and with the only opportunity wasted owing to my usual luck with animals in that as soon as I whip out my camera they turn their back or end up walking out of shot. So I turned my interests to things that can't walk or change their mind, and in this case it was a tunnel. Again the light was bad so it looked better in real life than in the picture, but here goes. At least I now have a photo for December.

Tatton Park again and what else would I be taking pictures of? Ducks, no that's Reddish Vales job to house ducks for the taking of pictures. No Tatton Park is the second place to go if you want to take pictures of Deer, naturally the first place is Dunham Masey, but since we didn't think we could take the excitement, we dialled it all the way back to number 2 and headed out to Tatton.
To be honest with the cold, deer were the only things of note, everything was safely tucked up in bed by the looks of it unlike the visitors to Tatton Park, so a quick tour it was, I bagged 50+ bad pictures of deer and then homeward bound.

We went to Ness Gardens today which happen to have gardens and I assume the Ness Monster, however the monster wasn't there or was hiding when we were there, probably a little too cold for it, it was probably out somewhere warm like Loch Ness.
It has the usual Halloween themes running through the gardens with scarecrows all over the place and a spooky barn, to be honest, it was all OK and the light was pretty poor for pictures, but I don't think this one turned out too bad, at least there's a bit of colour in it which is difficult sometimes in autumn with the light the way it is.
