Beach's PicturesPages Llandudno Promenade (Nisis DV5)
Ah it's archive pictures again back from July 2006, so as you can guess it's been a busy week and the weekends have not been my own to go out and take something interesting which is pretty poor, even this weekend has been taken over by others and so with the expectation that tomorrow should be no difference, I decided to run an archive so that at least there's something different here at least every two weeks.
So here's a picture of Llandudno's Promenade. It was a pretty warm day as you can see by the picture, I seem to remember this was also the day my brother and his wife attempted to fold their pop-up tent back into the back it popped-up from. The whole process appears to be simple but thirteen minutes later wire cutters were looking preferable.

Staring Out to Sea (Nisis DV5)
On the way back home we dropped in on Crosby where we were just lucky enough to get enough light for a few pictures. It could have easily gone wrong as there didn't seem to be any signs for the beach at Crosby or even any sign that you were in Crosby. So by a little luck and design we headed for the sun with the vague idea that we were going in the right direction. Of course this assumed that Crosby has a beach facing West.
Getting trapped the wrong side of the train tracks we did make it there to see Antony Gormley's statues staring out to sea. They do appear a little strange and I'm not sure I like the idea, don't get me wrong I don't hate them, part of me does really like them but there's another side that just feels like they are one heck of a health and safety nightmare, not that I should be concerned with such things.

Southport Pier (QTEK 9100)
Today's outing was to Southport. Like so many seaside towns they do seem a little sad in the winter and with the car park we stopped at being right next to the closed Pleasureland that didn't help the gloomy feel you get from some seaside towns. Of course when you trip around the rest of Southport it doesn't seem to have done it harm (Pleasureland's closure I mean) but then again it seems slightly more wealthy than Fleetwood or Morecambe for that matter which probably helps.
This picture is from the end of the Pier where a rather useless tram runs from to the start of the town and back. The building on the left is the café on the end of the pier. But it all seems an ultra-modern affair for a pier when you compare this to Llandudno or Blackpool.

Just Down from Charlestown (Minolta X500)
This cheaky little number is a picture of a beach that was under construction... well not the bit I was on or taking a pic of, but the rest of it was. After a hard day of being burned I stayed by the rocks and took this little number. I'd no idea it would look as good as I thought it would do because of my constant complaints about the screens on digital cameras. I have complained long and hard but does anyone listen... no. It was a sunny day despite the look of it going dark soon!

St Ives (Minolta X500)
Just quick picture of St Ives, nothing much to speak of hear other than this is from the Harbour wall. A sunny day in St. Ives though a few days before it had been raining. In fact on the first few days (which were cold) we go sunburnt! How could that have happened.

Concrete Boat (Minolta X500)
This is the concrete boat in Portmeirion, doesn't sound such a successful sailing craft and you're be right because it doesn't sail. It's moored to the promenade with brick. I did think of taking my video camera at that moment and hand it to my Wife and pretending to be in The Prisoner. but decided against this as I would meet up with strange looks from tourists and my Wife alike.

Cleveleys Beach (Sony Ericsson K700i)
What could be more relaxing than spending the afternoon on Cleveleys beach, well perhaps not spending the afternoon on Cleveleys beach and being papmered by people tending to my every need. Due to the shortage of pamperers, it's Cleveleys beach for me.
