Interesting Building
Interesting Building (Nisis DV5)

Now this doesn't seem like an interesting picture in many ways other that it's lit with a low winter sun which again isn't interesting to most. The great thing about the winter sun is that it causes quite a bit of contrast, something that I'd love to have captured around Pendle Hill but never got the chance.

No the interesting thing about this picture is the sundial on the building instead of the clock. Personally I don't know how this works but I can only assume it does. How the clock works being vertical is a mystery to me and I'm sure sundials have to be moved during the months to keep the accurate. Perhaps I'm wrong.

Tolworth Tower
Tolworth Tower (QTEK 9100)

Here's a rather abstract picture of the Tolworth Tower where we stayed when we were at Hampton Court. They have blue lights on the top and there's a lit stairwell. This is taken with the QTEK on night so there's a long exposure and the camera is twisted, so the blue spins and the stairwell is that streak of yellow. Just thought it might be interesting to take.

Glass Tower
Glass Tower (Nisis DV5)

Here's a picture of a building in China Town, I think it's on York Street but I don't know, my knowledge of road names around there is woeful as is my memory of where it was because the parallel roads do tend to get me a little lost, well I am getting old, I'd had a few ciders and a slap up meal (as the Dandy comic would have said). If it's not on York Street the Charlotte Street will be the one. I liked the geometric pattern so took it. Job done.

Building Stalking
Building Stalking (Nisis DV5)

This is the last time I take a picture of this building I promise; otherwise it'll look like I'm stalking the building. I had to go into work on Saturday and so I took my camera and since the building looked taller than usual I snapped another couple of pics. Here's one. I'll stop now I know you're bored.

CIS
CIS (Nisis DV5)

The whole thing about Manchester nowadays is that it has changed, stop for five seconds and something that you used to know has gone and has been re-build in glass. This picture was taken of what I think is the CIS building, from a car park that I didn't know existed which is part of a bus station that I didn't know existed. I sort of felt the shot looked right, but now looking back it at, I could have made sure that the fastening for the window wasn't in shot.

Disney
Disney (Nisis DV5)

Ah another busy fortnight, so archive pictures again I am afraid to say because of so much work, work, work. Just a good job my name isn't Jack.
This is a the Disney Towers from early last year, seems so long ago now, but still a holiday to remember... for all the right reasons. This is actually a still from a video, yes that's how low my archive footage of stills has become. Oh of course I could start scanning in photos from earlier holidays but that would take a little time, maybe next time.

Turton Tower
Turton Tower (Sony Ericsson K700i)

Whilst at Turton Tower (closed at the time but we had to get out of the house) there was this strange bridge. What you can't see is that it's over a railway line, what you can see are some steps for some reason heading up into a little tower thing on the edge of the bridge. There's nothing much to see from the top of that but it begs the question why it was build like that.

Manchester Tower with Lights
Manchester Tower with Lights (Sony Ericsson K700i)

After going to the Istanbul Cafe in Manchester we walked back to the car. Since I am always a fan of cityscapes, here's a reasonable picture of the new tower in Manchester that will grace our skyline.

Of course the picture is slightly ruined a little by me not cropping the picture and the k700i lengthening the exposure and not giving me any clue that camera shake might change the shot.

Leasowe Lighthouse
Leasowe Lighthouse (Nisis DV5)

There's nothing at Leasowe, nothing at all, even less than at Cleveleys and for the life of me I couldn't find the entry I have for Cleveleys. There is a lighthouse and that's probably all, supposedly it has dunes, though the concrete on the front tells me that the dunes went long ago. Anyway, here's the lighthouse, quite strange because at the top I can't see much room for a light, however it was closed so my ability to find out whether this was because I'd not seen it or that the lighthouse had been modified was reduced.

Manchester Tower 2
Manchester Tower 2 (Sony Ericsson K700i)

Back to the great tower that is being built in Manchester. I have forgotten what the tower is called (I did look it up), but it's going to hose a Hilton Hotel among other things. As I have mentioned before further away it looks bigger and this time I am a little further being at the remaining Roman walls in Manchester.
